Cristina Morán presented a lecture at the Panel "The Agribusiness Ecosystem in Jalisco" at UdeG.
Cristina Morán, an expert in agribusiness, sustainable agriculture, and co-founder of the consulting firm Global Agrotrade Advisors, visited the Center for Economic and Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) on Monday, April 24th, 2023, as part of the Agroemprende Jalisco event. During her presentation, Cristina Morán gave a lecture on topics relevant to Mexico's foreign trade.
During her participation, Cristina Morán addressed the topic of agribusiness in Mexico, the current context and its potential. In particular, she discussed the challenges surrounding the promotion of agricultural and livestock productivity in the country, and the possible effects that this inclusion could have on agriculture and food security in Mexico.
She also highlighted the role that Mexico plays in exporting food, being the seventh-largest exporter in this sector globally, and that its arable land, which covers the same territory as the United Kingdom, exports products to countries such as China, Japan, the United States, and Canada, to name a few.
Through her lecture, she listed the main products that Mexico offers to the world, as well as its eleventh place in primary livestock production and agricultural crops, and seventh place in agricultural production.
Cristina Moran's presentation at CUCEA at UdeG was an important opportunity for students and the university community, in general, to understand the challenges and opportunities that the Mexican countryside offers, as well as to understand the importance of this sector for the country.
